When I open the front door my dog is always escaping. How shall I punish him for doing this?
You never punish a dog because it works contra-productive. You can correct your dog if he does not listen to a command. Teach your dog a sit and stay. He will not escape anymore. Read further the article “Titbits and staircases”.
